Madison, WI (August 7, 2013) – Idle Free Systems, Inc., the manufacturer of electric idle elimination solutions for the commercial trucking industry, will be located in the Mack Trucks booth at the 2013 Great American Trucking Show (GATS) where it will showcase the Idle Free electric APU. With fuel being the largest component of operating costs and truck fleets’ relentless focus on fuel‐reduction strategies, the Idle Free system has been installed on all brands of major truck manufacturers.
GATS is the nation’s second‐largest trucking trade show and will be held on August 22 ‐ 24 at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Idle Free CEO Robert Hopton and Western Region Sales Director Adam Cook will be on hand to speak with fleets and drivers and answer media questions.
The Mack truck seen at GATS is equipped with the Idle Free system so that drivers can experience how comfortable a truck can be during rest periods without wasteful idling. The Idle Free system is operated with a convenient control panel in the sleeper and provides electrical power for amenities. The system also saves fuel, reduces engine wear and cuts emissions for a cleaner environment.
The Idle Free electric APU differs from all other idle‐elimination solutions because it is the most complete system available. It meets all driver needs ‐‐ heat, air conditioning and electricity to run a TV and computer‐‐ without jeopardizing the productivity and longevity of the truck. The Idle Free APU is the only complete electric APU on the market and therefore will generate the fastest ROI of any system because of the significant fuel savings.
Hopton commented, “It’s an honor to have our APU installed on a Mack truck. Having the Idle Free electric APU on the Pinnacle SmartWay truck on exhibit at the GATS is a perfect way to demonstrate to fleets how our technology works and the value they can achieve by installing an Idle Free system.”
North American fleets seeking to control fuel costs, decrease their carbon footprint and increase profitability are the driving force behind Idle Free’s growth, with continued broad adoption of Idle Free’s Complete Electric APU Solution™.
Unique to the Idle Free electric APUs is its ability to be powered three ways: an independent battery bank, Shorepower and Reefer Link™, Idle Free’s proprietary, patented technology run by the reefer. Idle Free is the only APU on the market that can be powered by the reefer.
Regardless of power option, Idle Free CARB compliant and EPA SmartWay verified APUs provide air conditioning and heat; 120 volt electricity for televisions, computers, and other hotel needs; and keeps the truck engine warm when the engine is off.
Journalists interested in speaking with Robert Hopton and seeing the Idle Free Systems APU technology during 2013 GATS will find them in the Mack Trucks booth #12099 between Lobby E and F.
